Littelfuse PLED Series Open LED Protectors provide a switching electronic shunt path when an LED in an
LED array fails as an open circuit, ensuring that the entire array of LEDs will continue to function even if a single LED in the array doesn't. PLED Series Open LED Protectors provide higher reliability lighting functions in applications such as headlights, aircraft, aircraft runway lighting, roadside warning lights, and more. These Littelfuse LED protection devices are compatible with 1, 2, and 3W LEDs that have a nominal 3V forward characteristic. PLED devices are available in either DO-214 or QFN surface mount packages. Littelfuse also offers the PLED5 QFN Series, which ensures an LED array continues to function when one of the LEDs in array fails, protects against ESD events, and provides protection in the case of accidental reverse battery or power connection.
