Xilinx was the pioneer and decades-long market leader for FPGAs. Its acquisition by AMD in 2022 created a new heavyweight group in the field of high-performance + adaptive computing, which today combines CPUs, GPUs, FPGAs and adaptive SoCs under one roof. The brand name "XILINX" still exists under AMD.
